Problems were plentiful: the home needed significant refurbishing inside and out; peeling paint and water stains on all ceilings; trash bins and materials cluttered the walkway outside the basement rooms; untrained, inexperienced reception staff was unfamiliar with city and could not give recommendations; basic continental breakfast versus full breakfast; owner appears absent, leaving college students in charge who lacked basic training in hospitality (e.g., failing to even ask "how was your stay?"); would have stayed in chain hotel if we weren't going to be given the personal, knowledgeable service you typically get at another B&B
