Circa 1889. A white picket fence surrounds this historic home that prominent businessman Frederick Kent transformed from Victorian to an English shingle-style structure. Relax in front of the fire or enjoy the warmth of the solarium. Guest bedrooms and suites are named to honor American poets and are decorated with antiques and collectibles. The Cottage includes a living room with working fireplace and full kitchen. A lavish breakfast may include a starter course of peach halves poached in vanilla syrup filled with ricotta mousse, a main course of crab and artichoke heart egg puff in a white wine and parsley sauce and a sweet course of chocolate torte in orange caramel sauce. Afterwards, roam the exotically landscaped yard with waterfalls, or visit the greenhouse of orchids and tropicals.
