Description

Circa 1859. Located between Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe, in Gold Country, this is one of the 10 oldest continuously operating hotels in the state. The inn maintains its original redwood bar where thousands of dollars in gold dust were once spent. Original furnishings, Gold Rush period antiques, brass beds, lace curtains and regal comforters grace the guest bedrooms. A soaking room is an additional amenity, though all rooms include private baths. Enjoy a daily bountiful buffet breakfast. Arrange for romantic dining at the on-site gourmet restaurant, considered to be one of the finest in the Mother Lode. Order a favorite liquor or espresso from the saloon, or try the area's wine tasting. Favorite diversions include gold panning, live theatre and antiquing, golf and shopping.
