Wonderful Inn

1840 Inn on the Main

My husband and I just returned from a two night stay in the Finger Lakes while my husband was on leave from a deployment in Afghanistan. We stayed in the Inn on Main in the Gifford Room. From the time we arrived at the house, we were blown away at how beautiful everything was and how well maintained the house, rooms and property were. Guy and Jaynee were wonderful hosts. They were attentive without being invasive. Our room was beautiful, with a huge king sized bed and a jacuzzi tub in our room that was more than big enough for the two of us. A very tasty breakfast started each of our days. My husband and I took advantage of their wine tour package, which I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who is considering it but questioning the additional cost as I did. We were given a basket of snacks to take on our wine tour by Guy who wished us a great day as we departed. We spent 5 hours with a very knowledgeable driver who drove us in a Town Car to 7 wineries for tastings. Once we returned to the Inn, we were greeted as if we were coming home for the evening. My husband and I are already planning another trip for next Spring when he returns from his deployment and we will definitely be staying at the Inn On Main again.

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

The Inn on the Main is what a B & B should be...cozy, charming, beautifully decorated, gloriously victorian but cleverly modern, warm, and welcoming. But, it is ALSO one of the few B&B's that fill a small but welcome niche for those of us that need a bit more space. While the rooms in the main inn are fabulous, there is a wonderfully appointed 2 BR apartment attached that filled our needs beautifully. Comfortable living and dining area, modern bath, fully equipped kitchen that is stocked with all your breakfast needs daily. There is even a private entrance. Separate and private while still enjoying the wonders of the inn. It was easy to imagine times gone by lazing on the cozy porch, gazing at the beautiful grounds, watching Main Street come alive. Easier still to imagine you were there, back in 1840. The location is perfect for spending a delicious day eating, drinking, and shopping your way down Canandaigua's historic Main Street and back! Great food, quaint and surpirsing array of shops, and a good ole' Irish pub or two. Loved it.

Robert and I stayed for three days at the 1840 Inn on the Main. The attention to detail was apparent from the moment Guy greeted us on our arrival until our last breakfast morning. Guy and Jaynee have the perfect personality to run an Inn...they know what makes a vacation a true vacation. The morning coffee and breakfast was delicious, our room was spacious and comfortable and in keeping in style with this Heritage property. We were treated like house guests not paying customers. It became one of the Highlights of our trip to the Finger Lakes. They are doing everything right!!

We were lucky enough to enjoy a one night stay at this beautiful B&B. I can't say enough about how accommodating the owners were and are for our one night stay and our food restrictions. They were genuinely nice and welcoming. I have already recommended the 1840 Inn on the Main to all of our friends!

We stayed at the Inn on the Main last weekend and it was amazing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The innkeepers are very kind and the breakfast was excellent! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the jacuzzi was a nice luxury to have. The town of Canandaigua is so beautiful and there are a lot of fun activities and good places to eat mostly withing walking distance. I honestly didn't want to leave... :(

From the moment we pulled into the driveway Inn on the Main was even better than it looked online. This was our first B&B experience and now the bar has been set so high nothing could top it! Guy and Jaynee was the most friendly and welcoming people we have ever meet! From the time we walked in the door to the moment we left they were hospitable and warm. I wanted to hug them, they seemed like old friends that I didn't want to leave! The house itself is remarkable and georgeous right down to the last minute detail. The room was unlike anything I've ever seen! The bed was so comfortable, and I would highly recommend staying in one of the rooms with the jacuzzi tub (it was too die for!)! The breakfasts that came out each morning, one was better than the previous! Homemade and thought out so carefully and beautifully presented! We would recommend this place over anyother and can't wait to return!

This Bed & Breakfast was absolutely amazing! The Innkeepers, Guy & Jaynee were so friendly and nice. It's right on Main St., too, so the location was great...we could walk anywhere. The rooms were beautiful, clean and no detail was left out. My husband & I stayed in the Burrell Suite...what a beautiful room! We also got massages right in our room and later on enjoyed the fireplace and jacuzzi. All in all, I had a great birthday. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

For my first stay at a B&B I couldn't have asked for anything more. The innkeepers, Jaynee and Guy, went out of their way to make you feel at home and provided anything you needed. Breakfast here was also phenomenal! The food was wonderful and the portions filled me up for the whoe day. I can't wait till I can make it up for a stay here again. The location of the inn was perfect, not far from anything.

...for a weekend getaway that felt like a week! Our first trip to NYS wine country and it was the best. We started Friday night with a cooking class at the New York State Wine & Culinary Center where me met new friends. Saturday we drove around the lake and had lunch on the porch of the Naples Hotel. Then back in time for WINE WALK on Main Street! Our breakfast on Sunday was right out of Gourmet magazine...Guy & Jaynee really know how to treat their guests. The Inn is so beautifully decorated and the location is the best. We will be back for sure!

We stayed at the Inn on The Main over the July 4th weekend and experienced one of the most fun filled and yet relaxing weekends we have had in years. Canandaigua offered a wide range of activiites on the weekend including a 4th of July concert by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, a steamship trip on Canandaigua Lake, a tour through Sonnenberg Gardens, and excellent restaurants. Irene and I even had time to each read a book on the porch of the Inn. Guy and Jaynee are the perfect hosts, and offered us anything we needed over the weekend...we left as friends of Guy and Jaynee and we'll be back. Joe & Irene

My husband and I needed a quick getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Jaynee and Guy opened up their beautiful home and made us feel so welcome! The accommodations were immaculate and because this house has been newly renovated (in the last 5 years) everything is beautiful! We had a jacuzzi right in our room!
