Enjoyable Stay!!!

Joan and I enjoyed our stay at the 1810 Juliand House. Claudia made us feel at home, and Steve cooked us a 'to order' breakfast of fresh fruit, banana bread, omelettes, bacon and sausage. The bed was comfortable, the room clean and especially quiet, and the smallest details paid attention to. We would highly recommend this place. Sincerely, Jed and Joan Feffer

We had a lovely time and felt a warm welcome from innkeepers Steve and Claudia in this well kept historic inn. Breakfast was specially attractive since we had interesting choices to chose from.

Perfect stay!

My wife and I stayed in Hannah's Room for one night. We were in town for a wedding. The booking process was easy, the accommodations were ideal, and the "little touches" in the room and house (q-tips, candies, bottled water, snacks, etc.) were well-appreciated! The highlight for us was the cooked-to-order breakfast, and the care that clearly went into its preparation. Fabulous place!

welcome guest

I found the hosts extremely pleasant, the room accomodations excellent, the guest kitchen/snack area just-like-home-for-late-tea and the breakfast a treat. A visit with friends. And the two pups were very sociable and not at all intrusive. I'll find a reason to go back soon.

Hidden treasure

This inn was not easy to find on the web but finally did pop up after several searches. Three of the four guests rooms were lovely and rather romantic. The fourth (one without a bath)had an awkward layout but did sleep 3 people. We were up in the area for a family wedding and my family took all four rooms. It was fun having the whole wing of this beautiful historic house! We even had access to a little kitchen round the clock. The hospitality was wonderful and the food very good and plentiful. The owners have two very nice dogs but even though they are not allowed in the guest room area they were in the common areas a lot. We usually prefer inns without animals for sanitary reasons. (almost stepped in dog poop in the yard and dogs were use to sitting on tv room furniture which is used by guests)

a wonderful bed and breakfast!

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our experience at 1810 Juliand House. We stayed in the Captain's Room which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The guest rooms are situated away from the main living area of the home so we felt it was very private. We enjoyed a delicious home-cooked breakfast with fresh fruit and pancakes. The owner's dogs Sam and Cody were delightful. We look forward to staying there again!

great place to stay in Greene

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at this B&B very much. The rooms were large, spotlessly clean, the beds are wonderfully comfortable, the hosts so friendly and welcoming, it was really a great experience. I cannot say enough about the breakfast, so delicious with fresh scones, pancakes, waffles, fruit and bacon. The coffee was so good we didn't even miss our usual Starbucks stop. Highly recommend, and we'll consider this our regular place to stay in Chenango County from now on.

Labor Day

Booked three nights for the Labor Day weekend (Sat, Sun. & Mon.) A very nice & well kept Inn. The owners were friendly. Had an awesome breakfast Sunday Morning & enjoyed the company of the other guest. Monday (Labor Day) & Tuesday our family( of (6) occupied the whole inn. Since the Labor Day festivities start early we let the owners know that breakfast wouldn't be necessary however Tuesday morning just as we were getting ready to go down for breakfast we were informed that the owner was leaving for and appointment & thanked us for coming. We ask if there was coffee available and she was quite taken back by the request but said that she would put a pot on. We were under the impression that a bed & breakfast meant just that. We went to town and paid $57.00 for breakfast.

Wonderful stay for all

We recently stayed with Claudia, Steve, Cody and Sam on the last Saturday in April. We were visiting family in Smithville Flats,Binghamton NY and Edmeston NY. We were a long way from our NC homes. Claudia, Steve, Cody and Sam made our stay very enjoyable and entertaining. The rooms were comfy, cozy and delightful.. The heated towel racks were a success. The downstairs TV room, music room/library and kitchen were an oasis for us all. Steve whipped up a quick batch of brownies for us that we so enjoyed. There was food galore in the kitchen with snacks, hot drinks, pizzas, wine/beer in the refrigerator for us to enjoy if we so wished. The breakfast was just a great event. Pancakes, Amish bacon, strawberries, fresh eggs, the list goes on and on. We hated to leave but needed to finish our appointments on our trip. We will look forward to returning for another wonderful stay at the 1812 Juliand Home. Thanks Robert/Mary Ellen Clodfelter/Bob Fitzgerald, Winston Salem and Concord NC

Feel Right at Home

This is one of the nicest B&Bs we have ever been to. Claudia and Steven could not have been more accommodating and the inn was absolutely spotless. Breakfast was delicious each morning and we felt completely comfortable here. This is a nice out of the way location if you are visiting students at Binghamton University. I really can't say enough good things about this B&B and have already recommended it to one of our friends. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Best B&B Hosts ever!

The 1810 Juliand House is located in a wonderful historic home in a quaint small town setting. Guest rooms are nicely decorated, and the shared common space is expansive - a whole wing of a large house. There is also a full kitchen that guests may use at any time. The grounds are beautiful too. But what made this the best was the friendliest B&B hosts ever in Claudia and Steve. It was like we were staying with good friends or family. The location is about 40 minutes outside of Binghamton, but well worth the extra drive.

Fabulous B&B in Greene

My wife and I had a fabulous experience at 1810 Juliand House. The property is well maintained - the room we stayed in was comfortable and clean - the private bathroom had an awesome soaking tub. Claudia and Steve, were lovely and accommodating hosts who made a wonderful breakfast and even played the piano for us. It was pretty easy to get to Ithaca from there - about an hour's drive straight shot on the 206 and 79.

Staying here feels like at home

Referred by coworker, visited there at night, I had a very comfortable tour of the house, and decided to stay there for two months. Through my stay, I do feel all there like I am at home, the management have been treating me more than as a guest, actually like a family member, plus I've seen what the management treat other guest the same as mine experience too. The room condition is very clean, well organized, living room, TV room, reading room, dining room, and kitchen are very well setup. Additonally, my evening and weekend are the best time to chat with managers who are very friendly.

Newly weds

Very unfortunate experience on my sons wedding day, He booked the room for his wedding night with the approved agenda the bride and bride maids could get ready for the wedding at this bed and breakfast. The owners. Went ballistic on the bride then again on the groom stating there would be no hairspray or makeup going on around their antiques and old wallpaper, !!! They could change for wedding but no hairspray or makeup Looking back this is comical, but on your wedding day this was not what. Should happen. My son stayed not at a bed and breakfast , but at a great hotel in Binghamton . This Julian house certainly gives bed and breakfasts a bad reputation. Owners very unprofessional and rude. Possibly a new establishment ,and are unaware how to treat customers. The checking in experience was so uncomfortable my son and new bride decided to forfeit their deposit and stay at a binghamton hotel on their wedding night, this bed and breakfast caused some uncomfortable moments on their big wedding day , which were unnecessary. This bed and breakfast gives bed and breakfasts a bad rap. This is unfortunate. We as a family have never experienced such uncomfortable moments or poor treatment, hopefully the management learns. From their errors and unprofessionalism.

do not go here!!!!!!!!

This Is The worst Place Ever. The Red Head That Works There Is So Unprofessional. She Was Very Rude And When I Told Her I Didn't Think We Would Stay. She Told Told Me That It Didn't Matter Because She Had My Credit Card And Would Charge Me Full Price. There Was Dirty Sheets On The Bed When We Got There The Woman Told Us That The Room Wasn't Ready. So What Does She Do? She Used The Same Sheets And Just Remakes The Bed. If You Are Looking For A Comfortable Place To Stay This Is Not it. The Place Is Terribe!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful Decision!

Our daughter was married May 18, 2013, she, her sister, six year old niece and three other out-of-town guests booked rooms at the Juliand House B & B. From the moment we were greeted by Claudia we knew we had made the right decision in making the home our "landing point". The clean rooms were well appointed with period correct furnishings and modern spotless bathrooms. The common areas for guests were comfortable, well stocked and available 24 hours without disturbing the inn keepers. The key system offered security .Each room offered climate control for comfort. Parking is off street and amble~even enough for the tractor trailer cab that arrived to take our daughter to her local ceremony. Many thanks for a wonderful experience. Mary Jane Alger

Great Wedding Weekend

Some family and friends came in from out of town for my wedding, we all stayed at the Juliand House, it was great! After the rehearsal dinner at our house I went down to the Juliand House and met up with out of town guests, it was so relaxing to sit in the living room with the gas stove, sipping wine with my Mom, Aunt, Sister and 2 close friends! Having a chance to enjoy some quiet time before my exciting day was great! The morning of my wedding was great, we had plenty of room to get ready and felt refreshed from a good nights sleep! My niece loved the garden tub too!!

Like Home

Steve and Claudia are the most wonderful hosts -- warm, welcoming, easy going, accommodating and helpful. They have invested a lot into making their rooms comfortable and gracious, and they offer amenities we have never found in other B&B, such as a fully equipped kitchen for guest's use. Can't say enough about them, their place, the great food, or cleanliness and comfort of their rooms. On a scale of 1 to 10, they definitely get a 10!!

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND ACCOMMODATION

The last week of June my husband and I visited friends in Norwich, New York, approximately 30 minutes away. We were glad we went with the positive reviews on this website as well as Tripdvisor, because they were very accurate. The innkeepers, Claudia and Steve were very accommodating with dietary requirements, and they were very knowledgable about the area. We will definately return when visiting the area.

Hospitality and History Welcomed Us

After days on the road up the east coast visiting family and friends, we decided to lodge in one place for four days. My reticent husband was leery of the potential surprises that a bed and breakfast might present us, but having experienced the hotels in the Binghamton area, he was willing to entertain my sense of adventure. We were both very pleased from the moment we arrived at this B&B and met Claudia. The 1810 Juliand House is delightfully historic and has beautifully decorated, comfortable, and refreshingly clean rooms. The “common” areas for guests included a full kitchen which allowed us to clean out our cooler and refrigerate foods for the duration of our stay. It would have been very easy to store ingredients and prepare meals there—but we were on vacation! The town of Greene was fun to explore. While my husband relaxed and read in the library (which offered shelves of books, DVDs, music, travel brochures, . . .), I strolled into town (convenient sidewalks) with my camera admiring gardens, historic buildings and monuments, cafes, the amazing Greene library, and to my surprise, The Page Seed Company. I even came upon a portrait and biography of General Nathaniel Greene who my nearby city of Greenville, South Carolina was also named after! One evening at the B&B I enjoyed viewing a DVD (from an extensive collection) on Thomas J. Watson, the founder of IBM in nearby Endicott. The commons area for guests included (in addition to the kitchen) separate rooms for listening to music; for reading and conversation; and for watching videos or TV (which you could also do in your room). It was nice to have these spacious, private, and comfortable areas to relax in. This meant that my DVD did not disturb my husband (or anyone else) who might be reading. Breakfasts were a delicious event! Claudia was kind to accommodate my husband’s desire for his usual fresh fruit, oatmeal and tea, while preparing me true vacation breakfast treats of scrambled eggs, pancakes, omelets, scones, blueberry crumble, Amish bacon, coffee, . . . (over the course of four days). Our dining conversations were congenial, and we were all surprised to learn that we shared the same wedding day, August 17, 1974! We were sorry to not have met Claudia’s “groom”, Steve, but we were there during the week while he was at work. The reason we chose this location (besides its wonderful history and interesting town) was its proximity to my brothers’ families (for reunions), and also it was a convenient drive to Spencer and Ithaca for visits with former Cornell professors, students, and other friends. We enjoyed several nearby outings as well, and would recommend riding the charming and historic Binghamton Carousel Circuit and also a visit to the Classic Car Museum in Norwich, NY. We also got to meet Sam and Cody, the family beagles. They were adorable and well-behaved, but we chose not to get too chummy with them lest our two cats at home catch their scents and become “jealous. “ When we were around they pretty much stayed in the family’s private quarters—never a problem. All in all we had a lovely stay and look forward to a return lodging in the future. Barb and Gil Travelers Rest, South Carolina August 6-9, 2013

A Most Pleasant Experience

My husband an I stayed at the 1810 Juliand House on two occasions. Each time it was a great experience. The rooms were beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless. Our breakfasts were delicious. We had a choice of any entrée we wanted and plenty of coffee, juice and fresh fruits. Steve and Claudia were great hosts. We would definitely go back.

Felt like home!

Loved our visit. Steve and Claudia are wonderful, warm and caring. We stayed in Hannah's room - clean and beautiful with a wonderful bath. I have never slept in such a comfortable bed. We felt so comfortable and utilized the home to its fullest. Steve had just set out a puzzle, so we enjoyed therapeutic puzzle making when we weren't visiting the local colleges. Excellent food, service and local charm.

Country Elegance

We, my wife and I, found ourselves in Greene for an overnight stay at Juliand House during the recent second 'Arctic Vortex' but the coziness of this wonderful, historically set B 'n' B establishment, coupled with the warmth of its owners Steve and Claudia Kachmarik, helped dispel the frigid cold of the raging winter outside! This was the kind of welcome that weary travelers rejoice in and long remember. Breakfast the next morning was a delightful affair for, along with the fine food, Claudia and Steve chatted with us, answering all our questions about the place. Thank you, indeed. We hope to see you again in the future. Kersi & Maya Mistry, Edison, N.J.

Snowy Relaxing Stay

We arrived with Claudia guiding our car into the newly plowed spot along with another family at the same time...what a welcome site! We were provided a quick tour of our part of the house and shown all the comforts available for us to enjoy. Our room (The Captain's Room) was exactly as pictured. We were provided information on area restaurants to try and I grabbed a brownie from the kitchen when we returned. The breakfast was delicious, there were so many choices and Steve spoiled us with his talent in the kitchen. It was very cozy and we would definitely visit again. Thanks for your hospitality! It turned into staying with friends

We spent 5 nights in late April with Claudia and Steve and it soon came to be like staying at a friend's' house for a week. Claudia made us wonderfully personalized breakfasts and we often lingered over coffee, talking about all sorts of interests. The room was beautiful and the bed and sheets were very comfortable. We liked the access to the shared guest kitchen for mid-day snacks and evening munchies. Our room had a private bath but no in-room TV, but the TV room was all ours during our stay. We will stay with Steve and Claudia again when we are back in the area. John and Ruth O. Whidbey Island, WA

A Place of Solitude

We had business in Greene, New York and found the 1810 Juliand House via Google. The reviews spoke highly of its charm and the hospitality of the hosts, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The house was historic and roomy. The weekend we went we had it all to ourselves. Steve and Claudia were wonderful hosts, very accomodating and very helpful in providing information about the region. And the breakfast was so filling I especially loved the scones and the baked apples. Their site boasted of the big soaking tub in the Hannah Room and I made good use of it. It was a very relaxing and peaceful weekend.

Romantic Home away from Home

My son often accepts roles at the Chenango River Theater in Greene NY, which is two and a half hours from where we live. It was by chance that we booked our first stay at the 1810 Juliand House, and we've stayed there four times since, and are staying again next weekend. We've brought friends and family up with us to see the plays, and they've always raved about the inn, and felt it was one of the most memorable experiences of our planned weekends. Claudia and Steve, seem more like friends than innkeepers. We'll be returning for many years to come.

Impeccable B&B

The Juliand House oozes charm and hospitality. Lovely bed linens and bathrooms. Guests have use of a full kitchen in addition to a delicious breakfast cooked by Steve. He and Claudia are most friendly. You'll enjoy !

Outstanding in every way

This Inn's atmosphere, accommodations, and the wonderful/bountiful breakfast were awesome. The inn keepers personalities and knowledge of the area made the stay very enjoyable, you could not ask for better accommodations or friendly service. Definitely a 10

Great Find!

What a great B & B! Claudia and Steve are fantastic hosts, making our stay a memorable one. They are sweet, accommodating, knowledgeable, AND make yummy full breakfasts to order! The Captain's Room, and the inn, was everything we had hoped, with a very comfortable king poster bed, and sparkling private bath, all nicely decorated. My husband and I were in the area for a wedding, but we plan on coming back to this B & B just because it is so lovely.

From beginning the end, Steve and Claudia were amazing hosts and the Juliand House is truly a treasure. Both the breakfasts and the conversations were delightful! There is no doubt that we will tuck this gem away for future visits. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend!

Lovely Bed and Breakfast

We loved our stay at the 1810 Juliard House. We stayed in the Captains room which had everything we needed including the most comfortable king size bed. You could smell the bacon and coffee brewing in the morning. The breakfast was cooked to order and included fresh local fruits and juices and delicious homemade breads. We will certainly stay there again the next time we are in the area visiting.

Perfect for Ithaca Parents!

My wife and/or I have stayed at the 1810 house at least 4 times since our daughter began attending college in Ithaca. We find it to be an excellent alternative to the cookie cutter, stale atmosphere of hotels in Ithaca which frankly are very expensive and not that great. Driving from New England, we find Claudia and Steve's B&B perfect travel distance (1 hr shy of Ithaca) and it's like staying in our own home. You will find their hospitality, accommodations, and breakfast to be warm, inviting, and delicious! A gem in Greene!!

InnSide Tip - Places to eat in Greene
We love Mimi's Diner. Great buffets, pizzas, and Italian food in general. Also the Tap Room across the street at the Sherwood Hotel is an excellent place for a good burger, entertainment, and a local beer, or a fancy dinner upstairs in the lounge. Around the corner is a nice little ice cream shop. Just a quiet, relaxing town to visit!!

Nancy & Chuck D.

My husband and I stayed at the 1810 Juliand House on 8/21/15 after bringing our daughter back to Cornell. The inn was on our way home and turned out to be the perfect place to stay! Hannah's room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable! The private bath was a huge plus for us! Breakfast the next morning was superb! You can order anything you want for an entree and there was fresh fruit, yogurt, and homemade breads as well. We will definitely keep this wonderful B & B in mind the next time we need a place to stay near Ithaca!

One-night stay

This was a lovely place, friendly hosts enhanced by the 2 dogs and sweet grandkids. I would stay here again as a halfway stop between Boston and DC. Owners may want to consider a hot-water recirculating system for the bathrooms.

Delightful

We generally don't care for the B & B experience, but coming for Binghamton graduation made finding accommodations challenging. Claudia and Steve made it very comfortable for us. They are charming and gracious. They have lots of interesting stories and anecdotes to share, but also completely understand that their guests are there to spend time with one another. They really made our experience delightful. The house was perfect for us. Our family took over the entire guest quarters and we felt like we were staying in a private home just for us. The house is old and creaks a lot, but we find that charming. Aside from the bedrooms, there is a lot of space available to the guests including a living room with dining area, a tv room, library and full kitchen. It is extremely comfortable. Claudia and Steve keep it spotlessly clean. They are great cooks and breakfast is abundant and delicious. It really is the hosts that made the experience so excellent. They are very sensitive to their guests' needs, are eager to be helpful without being intrusive and are so very kind and caring. The location is about a half hour from Binghamton, so it was not terribly convenient for us, but it is an easy drive. We heartily recommend it.

Quaint and Romantic

We've stayed at the 1810 Juliand House numerous times on the way to/from dropping our daughter off at college. My wife and I love everything about this house! It's clean, private, and beautiful. They've beautifully preserved the historical look, and the rooms are spacious and romantic. Claudia and Steve are gracious hosts and their breakfast is spectacular. We love this B&B and recommend checking it out.

Step Back into the 1800's

I had a wonderful stay at the 1810 Juliand House just outside of Green, New York. We timed it perfectly for the yearly Apple Harvest Festival. Downtown is walkable from the house. The house is fantastically restored. Steve and Claudia were the perfect hosts. The breakfast was top shelf…. Everything was cooked to order and I was stuffed (well…. Almost) before the main course arrived with home baked cinnamon cake and scratch baked apples that were locally grown. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend the Julind House!

Pleasant Surprise Stay

Luckily, our room at the Sherwood Hotel flooded and we found this nice place to stay. They were warm, welcoming and pleasant to be with. We enjoyed learning about this historic inn and eating the delicious breakfasts that were prepared. Thank you for making us feel at home while visiting our family. It was a God sent surprise and stay.

Wonderful Innkeepers, fantastic place to stay.

After 2 very bad experiences staying at the nearby Sherwood Hotel, we decided to give the Inn a try. What a refreshing and wonderful experience. We stayed there over Christmas and Steve and Claudia could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Guests have access to really nice accomodations such as a kitchen, dining area, library, TV room, and Living Room. We were the only guests over Christmas, and they not only allowed us to host Christmas dinner for our new daughter in law's family, but helped with set up. The Inn is clean, very well cared for, and one of the best Inn experiences I have ever had. My large family will be visiting our son and family frequently in Greene, and we will stay nowhere else!
