Love It

Great owners, beautiful location and rooms, great food. We couldn't have asked for more. We spent a night for our anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better place to spend it. Can't wait to go back.

Elopment at Devomfield

I can't say enough about how amazing our experience was at Devonfield was. We got eloped there with 20 guests and I couldn't have dreamed of a better day. Doug and Jim were great and did everything they could do make sure our day was perfect. The elopement package includes a 2 night stay for you and your partner, breakfast, a nice bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a $100 gift card to a local restaurant, and a very thoughtful gift from them. We had our reception dinner at the Morgan House. Doug and Jim made sure we were well taken care of there and our gift card was automatically applied to our bill. So if you don't get a physical gift certificate in your hands don't worry, Doug and Jim got you. The inn itself is spotless and well decorated. It smelled like delicious, like maple syrup, all day. It's also close to a lot of restaurant and outdoor activities. Some of our guest also stayed at the inn and they all raved about how much they enjoyed it. I would highly recommend the Devonfield Inn for a couple who wants to elope or have a very small wedding. They were so flexible with our idea and made it easy to make your day feel special and unique to you. They florist is also amazing and made me us the most beautiful bouquet and boutonniere. She even found sunflower for me because they are my favorite ( I realized when I got home I forgot it and was pretty bummed).

Love this Inn!

Just got back from a wonderful weekend at the Devonfield Inn . The Innkeepers, Doug and Jim, were so hospitable and accommodating. The Inn itself is spotless, and beautiful with a very homey and friendly vibe. It's situated within walking distance to the town with great restaurants and shopping. Doug and Jim serve a delicious breakfast with different choices each day, and the food is fabulous. Our weekend visit included a wine and cheese hour with live piano music. Looking forward to our next stay at the Devonfield. Highly recommended.-Cannot overstate how friendly and comfortable we felt there.

Thanksgiving at Devonfield Inn

My partner and I visited the Devonfield to celebrate a quiet Thanksgiving and we had a spectacular time. Doug and Jim are amazing hosts and they go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome in every respect. The Inn exemplifies Berkshire charm and hospitality. We stayed for Thanksgiving and had a truly delicious dinner that was served by the hosts. Again, every aspect of our short stay could not be more relaxing and enjoyable. To Doug and Jim, thank you again for a wonderful time. We hope to be back again next year.

Royal treatment at The Devonfield

It is not often that you experience service as attentive as you will receive at the Devonfield Inn. From the moment of our arrival to departure, we were treated as a wanted honored guest. We felt as if we were visiting new friends who couldn’t do enough for us. The innkeepers, Jim and Doug take great pride in their guest’s experience. The main house and cottage are decorated in a lovely style with many beautiful antique furniture pieces, comfortable luxury. No detail is overlooked from the silky sheets to the high quality toiletries to the plush towels and bath robes. Homemade cookies in the cookie jar, cordials and cognac for an evening nightcap, gourmet chocolates add to the homey touch. The breakfast is worthy of a five star resort. Sweet potato cranberry waffles with homemade butter pecan gelato, feta spinach tomato fluffy omelettes, homemade tender scones, fresh melons and berries, jumbo corn muffins. Our suite was spotless and immaculate as are the common areas. The views of the 32 acres are breathtaking and can be enjoyed from the main dining room, drawing room and many of the Inn’s suites and rooms. All add to the enchanting experience of the Devonfield.

Best B&B Experience we've ever experienced!

BEST B&B we've ever stayed at! The hosts are gracious and so passionate about your stay! Best full course breakfast which includes stellar homemade baking, omelettes, fresh fruit, and much more. A complimentary wine and cheese happy hour with entertainment on certain nights, and it was really nice meeting the other guests during this social event. We came after the pool closed since it was late in October, but we'll be back to enjoy the pool in the summer! Kudos to the owners of this wonderful establishment, we really loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Definitely a homey feeling like you’re visiting family members. The breakfast was really awesome. Doug was so hospitality and passionate which made us love it even more. Jim was super sweet as well. You can bring your own food and breakfast is always served from 830-930am. Awesome good food and coffee. Beautiful grounds and everything is 15 min drive to major places. Bike riding was really awesome .. go for the electric ones ! Perfect for a couples retreat, family reunion or friend get together. We will be coming back!

Hidden Gem in the Berkshires

What a great bed and breakfast this is! The inn is situated on 30+ acres on a hill in Lee. I stayed in the third floor “penthouse” suite which included a large living room, a cozy bedroom with a fireplace and a large bathroom with a jetted tub and skylight. There was a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator available. Breakfasts at the Inn are absolutely delicious and there is always fresh baked breads or scones for breakfast. Coffee and tea is available throughout the day in the guest kitchen and in the afternoon a baked good is waiting when you return to the inn. The sunroom is a nice place to sit and read or have afternoon tea. The innkeepers are very welcoming and make everyone feel at home. Lots of attention to details including the cozy robes, local chocolates and cognac make this inn a traveler’s dream stay! I’ll be sure to return!

Only Perfect

Devonfield does the impossible-- offers every luxury amenity with absolutely no stuffiness. You feel like the inn is your home for the duration of your stay. The innkeepers, Doug and Jim, are on top of every aspect of the inn and breakfast (included in the room rate) in particular, is when you feel like honored guests. Jim bakes breads that get transformed into French toast. Doug takes hot breakfast orders with warmth and precision while guests are enjoy the lovely cold offerings that include killer pastries. We were a group of eight and the fact that every one of us loved everything says it all. Doug guided us to what were perfect restaurants for our needs. One restaurant owner told us that though they'd owned the inn for just 18 months, Doug and Jim were already beloved members of the community. It's no wonder.

Wonderful Elopement Package

I got married at the Devonfield. My wife and I are not the type for large productions, or a big wedding. We wanted small and intimate. It was important for us to have our families really get to know one another. Doug and Jim provided the perfect setting for us. They made our family and friends feel so welcome and at home. For the two nights we stayed at the Devonfield it felt like we were at our own home with both our families under one roof. Doug married my wife and I out under the birch trees, Jim baked cookies for us all, it was wonderful. Our families spent the late nights next to the fire drinking and getting close, our rooms were impeccable, the Breakfasts were delicious. I cannot stress enough how welcome and comfortable Doug and Jim made us feel on a very stressful day. They helped us with flowers and with a place to eat afterwards, and they allowed us to bring our dog to be apart of the ceremony. They really made a stressful event very easy and stress free. Now every wedding has the unpredictable. Ours was the bride got sick! My wife caught a stomach bug and was sick the entire time! Some might have thought nerves, or having too much fun the night before, but I caught the same thing the very next day. Even with that wrench in the works The Devonfield went above and beyond and it was the best day of my life. I would recommend this Inn to anyone and I would say their event planning and execution is wonderful. We were planning on heading back to the Devonfield for our Anniversary, but we have a little one due any day now and will likely miss it this year. Doug, Jim, thank you so much for making our day as special and memorable as it was.

Home away from home

Beautiful property in Lee situated on 32 acres within less than 15 minute drive to Lenox, Great Barrington and Stockbridge. Plenty of things to do in the area . Innkeepers Doug & Jim were excellent host , and made our stay in the Berkshires Most enjoyable. Great breakfast . Great bed linens . Loved the Butler Pantry that Allowed us to store items purchased @ local grocery ,to continue our tradition of enjoying wine & cheese or milk & cookies as a late nite snack . We Would highly recommend the Devonfield Inn to anyone visiting the area .

Fantastic B&B central location in the Berkshires

My husband and I recently stayed for 2 nights. The owners, Doug and Jim are helpful, kind and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed meeting the other guests over wine and cheese on Saturday evening. We would highly recommend this B&B!

Romantic get away

What a wonderful Inn. It was beautifully maintained. There were so many period style appointments it felt like we went back in time, but in a fantastic way. Jim and Doug made us feel like we were visiting family. It was so convenient as well. We were able to get to all of the attratmctions of the Berkshires with ease yet felt we were so far away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown areas. It was the perfect setting for what we were looking for and Doug and Jim helped to make it that much better. We highly recommend a stay at Devonfield. You won't be disappointed.

The Best B&B we ever visited

We visited the Devonfield for the Christmas holiday. It was our first trip since the new owners took over. We really liked the Inn before but now that the new owners took over it was one of the best trips we ever had at a B&B. the reason is the new owners Doug and Jim. They were so friendly and helpful and they made our stay so enjoyable. Jim is a fantastic baker and each morning he had a new treat for us at breakfast, he even baked chocolate chip mint cookies in the kitchen to snack on - they were amazing! Both Doug and Jim made suggestions where to eat, places to go and just made us so comfortable. The rooms were beautiful and kept very clean. Our room had a fireplace and we got plenty of firewood every day to make sure we always had enough to keep our fire going well into the night. We rate them with 5+ stars.

Perfect for Chelsea and for you

Ronnie and Bruce Singer are the most gracious hosts imagineable, and Devonfield Inn is absolutely lovely; beautifully and comfortably furnished, there are wonderful, relaxing public rooms downstairs and gorgeous bedrooms upstairs. Breakfast is luscious, with different hot entrees daily as well as muffins, yougurt, fruit, and cereal. The atmosphere is relaxed while the attention to details and to guests is impeccable. We have stayed there every year since we discovered this treasure about 6 years ago. If Chelsea and Marc Mezvinsky come to Devonfield Inn for a lovely retreat, they will want to return again and again. So will you!

Romantic Getaway From it All!

Devonfield Inn provided a romantic getaway for my husband and I. We will be celebrating our 33 year anniversary in September. We were treated like royalty. Breakfast was delightful and all amenities were provided throughout the weekend. Owners and all who worked there were helpful in making reservations for us as well as respecting our privacy. I would recommend Devonfield Inn to friends and family.

Romantic

This is the second time we have stayed at the inn within six months so we had an opportunity to sample winter and early summer, both wonderful experiences. The large living room overlooking expansive grounds is lovely in the winter and even more beautiful in the spring. We went with our son-and-daughter-in-law who had a great time playing horseshoes, hitting balls on the tennis courts, and just walking around the grounds. The hosts are probably the most welcoming we have come across in our many inn experiences, the rooms are nicely-done, the breakfasts terrific!

Romantic

My husband and I stayed at the Devonfield Inn for the first time last weekend (12/08). We loved it immediately. The Inn itself is a beautiful home and as you walk into the foyer with the curved staircase and old stove, you immediately know you are in a romantic place. We had not had lunch so we had an early dinner in Stockbridge and then returned to the Inn. The fire was lit with plenty of wood to keep it going. We sat by the fire for three hours, drinking the wonderful port wine, and putting logs on the fire. It was great and we were "annoyed" when the other guests started returning. We wanted the place to ourselves by our lovely fire! Breakfast the next day was great. We sat at a nice table for two by the window, enjoying the view of the grounds and the wonderful spread. The room was also beautiful. We would definitely stay at this Inn again!

Berkshires Romantic Hide a way!

I have had the great fortune to stay at the Devonfield Inn in Lee Massachusetts on several occasions. It is a true gem in a beautiful area. The Owners, Bruce and Ronnie Singer, make me feel as if I am Family. They are as attentive or not as you wish. Always there to help and smart enough to allow you the privacy you desire. A perfect place for a wedding!

This was the first Inn/B&B that my now wife looked at as a potential location for our wedding. We looked at one more place and decided that we would be wasting our time looking at any other places. The Devonfield had everything we were looking for: cozy rooms, enough space for both families, a great area for the ceremony, and tons of space and activities for the kids. Not to mention how easy going and attentive Bruce and Ronnie were. We look forward to revisiting and reminiscing about our perfect weekend again soon!

Devonfield is definitely the most romantic, most beautiful, and finest inn that my husband and I have ever stayed at. The owners,Bruce and Ronnie, make you feel like you are part of their family. The accommodations couldn't be better. We have recommended their inn to many of our friends who only stay at 5 star resorts and they are "hooked" as well. Romantic

I took my wife of ten years to the Devonfield Inn for a romantic getaway. We actually live in the Berkshires and could have gone to any one of a hundred different B&B's. I'm not sure why I picked the Devonfield except that it is so pretty from the outside, and when I called to ask about availability I spoke with Bruce, (the owner), who seemed like such a nice person. Everything was perfect, and the owners, Bruce and Ronnie, have to be the sweetest people on earth.

Romantic Haven

This fall we traveled to the Berkshires to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Although we planned to bounce from place to place throughout New England, we settled into this beautiful romantic gem in the Berkshires. Everything was outstanding. The Inn, common areas and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the service impeccable, the breakfast delicious and the hosts, Ronnie and Bruce were so supportive. Before leaving we booked next years stay. Chad New York

We spent a very good Thanksgiving in the Berkshires at the beautiful Devonfield Inn. Everything about the Inn was terrific, including our host's, Bruce and Ronnie Singer. What a place to rekindle one's romantic youth. Roy and Virginia N.

word of mouth

This place gets such good word of mouth, something must be going on. Only rave reviews about location, food, service plus many stories about what a great romantic getaway it is for couples no matter the season. My husband and I are totally taken. Response from iLoveInns Management: We have never received any negative review on Devonfield Country Inn and are very interested in watching their growth and following among romantic travelers.

romantic

We spent a romantic golf get-away in the Berkshires. The inn was our refuge after a round or after sightseeing. Whether taking a swim in the pool, sipping a glass of port (while my husband pretended he could play the piano!) or just reading on the garden patio with the scenic Berkshires in front of you, there are many ways to find intimate moments at the inn. It was our first visit to Devonfield and we will be back. This is a real find in the Berkshires. Great central location yet removed from the hustle and bustle of the main routes. The innkeepers, Bruce and Ronnie, provided just the right balance of being very helpful and welcoming while letting us have our private space.

Romantic Inn for Romantic Music

We have been going to the Berkshires & Tanglewood Music Festival since 1955. Only in the last two years did we find the perfect spot to stay in the area and enjoy both romance and Romantic music - the Devonfield Inn in Lee, MA. We have already recommended it to two other couples that visit Tanglewood. The accommodations, the breakfasts, the pool, the other guests and our hosts all make a great combination.

Hard to match the feeling!

It's with great anticipation we wait at least twice a year to after booking our reservations at Devonfield to making the trip to our private little getaway. When we arrive at the beautiful setting that is the Devonfield Inn the feeling immediately settles over us of peace and serenity and just feeling great. You can't match the feeling of sitting in front of their big fire place on a cold dreary day and spending hours reading a good book. There are not many things that rival it. We love staying at the Devonfield! Steve Tenzer

We have stayed at the gracious and comfortable Devonfield Inn in both the winter and summer months. I really don't know which is better, but whenever you can find the time I would encourage you to take advantage of the hospitality of the innkeepers, the gorgeous location, and the opportunity to spend some intimate time with your special person. Romance and

When in the Berkshires, we wouldn't stay anywhere but Devonfield Country Inn. Located in a lush, enormous parkland, the Inn is meticulously well-kept and lovingly luxurious. Owners Ronnie and Bruce Singer make sure that their guests feel uniquely special; when your visit is over, you really feel that you are leaving home instead of going home. Breakfasts are delicious and abundant; the dining room and porch are lovely, comfy settings where one can make new friends or read the paper while enjoying a great meal. There is a guest kitchen with a fridge and an always-full cookie jar for a snack after the theater or Tanglewood. Guest bedrooms are romantic, beautifully furnished and immaculate. The beds are great. What more could one ask for? Only more time to stay there.

Our Romantic Berkshire Get-a-Way

My husband and I love to travel and only recently have been exploring the B&B avenue. I was so impressed with the beauty and comfort of the Devonfield (both inside and out), that, it's a shame to say, nowhere else has compared and I am planning to return in the next month!

Whether youre planning a weekend or a season in the Berkshires and are wondering where is the best place to stay, look no further. Having stayed in at least five other top rated inns and B&Bs in the area I can say without any reservation that Devonfield Inn out classes them all. The inn is absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained. Bruce and Ronnie are unequalled in their attention to their guests needs - from the warm welcome & tour of the inn to the generous array of after dinner drinks and port wine offered by the parlors fireside. From the moment we arrived until the tearful good-bye we felt like family. We look forward to returning again and again. I only wish the rating scale on this website had numbers above 5 (Superior) because Devonfield Inn truly is in a league of its own. -- Gerard Verbiar (October 30, 2008)

Amenities are outstanding

Staying at the Devonfield is an amazing experience. We were in the cottage, which was spacious and homey...but that's just part of it. The amenities are outstanding--from cognac and cordials all over the inn, to chocolates and a complete make-your-own-coffee kitchen with cookies, to breakfast on the sunporch, to robes and a great video and book collection and CD players...and so on. We only had one night because they were booked solid...wish it could have been longer.

Ronnie and Bruce Singer have created a warm and welcoming feeling in this lovely home. In the short time they have owned this property, they have made wonderful improvements. The property is beautifully maintained and the staff is wonderful. Weve been coming here for years and the Singers have been the best of all the owners. The breakfasts are delicious and they will answer any questions and make suggestions of places to go , etc. We truly love the Inn and will be back for Labor Day weekend!

A Romantic Get-Away any time of the

You dont have to be a newlywed to enjoy a romantic getaway at Devonfield! This was our third stay at Devonfield, visiting in both Spring and Fall. It doesnt have to be Valentines Day to plan a special time away with the one you love. Devonfield has become our perfect getaway for a romantic weekend, now more than ever! With the falling gas prices and the worsening Wall Street news, we asked ourselvesWhats really important? .we are! We now look forward to very affordable vacations without the headaches of traffic and boring hotels. Innkeepers Ronnie and Bruce Singer, immediately made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The historic and relaxing ambiance of the cozy living room areas combined with the plush and spacious bedrooms, complete with fireplace, allowed us to justrelax! More importantly, my wife and I had no distractions and the fun and memories came flooding back! We especially look forward to the special breakfasts prepared by Ronnie and Kim! Our fourth stay is already booked!

InnSide Tip - Plenty to do!!
The Center of Lee was beautiful! We have memories of old-fashioned fountain ice-cream sodas with our children. And ask Bruce to show you his \"Model-T\"!! The Outlet Shops of course are a wonderful collection of name brand stores for quality and bargan shopping!

Romantic!

Devonfield is perfect for a romantic getaway! My husband and I escaped from the City for a long weekend at Devonfield. We absolutely fell in love with the place, and each other all over again! It is warm and inviting, and elegant without being stuffy. We can't wait to return and snuggle by the fireplace this winter. We definitely recommend this one!

Top romantic spot

From the moment you arrive at this beautiful quaint inn you fall in love. The proprietors are wonderful and everything has that "extra" touch. Nothing has been overlooked to satisfy a guest. This is the place you want to see when you want to define "romantic inn". The quality of the linens, the decor, fresh flowers, the fabulous breakfasts, the social gathering rooms. Everything is picture perfect. The beauty of the surrounding Berkshires along with their strolling grounds for walks is unmatched. They make you feel welcome and at home. Definitely a "repeat" spot for all romantics. The owners by the way are high school sweethearts and it shows - need I say more?

Great escape

The Devonfield Inn was just beautiful. It was a great escape for my husband and I to spend time together, away from our busy lives, surrounded by nature, gorgeous surroundings, and interesting guests that were also staying add the Inn. We're going to make this an annual trip.

I had the pleasure to find one of the most beautiful, quaint, well run Inns I have ever stayed at. I speak of Devonfield Inn, 85 Stockbridge Road, Lee, MA. From the moment we drove up to the front door, we were greeted by the owners, Ronnie and Bruce Singer and welcomed with the aroma of freshly baked cookies. We were shown to a room on the second floor, magnificently decorated with a beautiful fireplace. The room was immaculate, it looked out over acres of beautiful green space and forest. In walking around the property it was something out of a book. The pool was beautiful. The breakfast was sumptuous, delicious, and the surrounding areas of Lee were spectacular. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and recommend Devonfield to our friends and families and we look forward to this year.

We want to send our gratitude for our warm reception at Devonfield. We all felt treated like family. Our stay in Devonfield was fantastic, a great way to end our vacation. We loved the gourmet breakfast, the friendly service and the lovely view of the different birds in the breakfast room. Devonfield is meticulously maintained with an eye for every detail. Being it our fifth stay at a Selected registry B&B, this was by far the best we ever stayed in. We will be happy to warmly recommend you to our friends.

If you're planning on an extended weekend or longer respite in the beautiful Berkshires at any season of the year, enhance your time by staying at Devonfield, a most gracious and comfortable inn in Lee, close to Tanglewood and all the cultural and scenic pleasures of the area. I've done that for over ten years and look forward each time to the assured amenities and elegance of my stay. I've never been disappointed. Everything from pool to tennis court to luxurious lawns and meadows are at one's disposal. The sunny breakfast room, with varied and delicious fare, the beautifully-appointed period rooms with their cozy atmosphere and the extensive and elegant book-lined living room all assure comfort in style. Ronnie and Bruce Singer, the proprietors, make every effort to guarantee a rewarding and interesting stay. They totally succeed . It's an Inn for All Seasons!

Where do we begin? We held our small, family wedding at the Devonfield in February 2007 and cannot possibly begin to express what an incredible experience it was. From the moment we first visited and met with the innkeepers at the Devonfield, we knew it was the perfect place to hold our wedding weekend. The Devonfield is absolutely beautfiul in terms of decor, details, and surrounding views. The innkeepers and their assistants are remarkably warm and immediately make you feel comfortable and "at home". Each of our wedding planning visits to the Devonfield was amazing as we noticed new details and remarkable attentiveness to every detail in the inn as well as with our upcoming nuptials. We arrived on a Thursday and Ronnie and Bruce Singer, the innkeepers, were so flexible around our separate arrivals given that we had family coming from many different directions. They started our stay off with a lovely wine and appetizer reception and from there on out we felt at home and completely comfortable enjoying all of the amenities of the Devonfield. Our wedding, held in front of the fireplace in the living room, was picture perfect. We could go on and on about each of the aspects of our stay...delicious breakfasts, treats in the pantry, working fireplace in our room, exquisite view, etc. but the bottom line is the Devonfield is absolutely remarkable

Devonfield is divine! Posted by Dennis from New Jersey From the moment we stepped in to this elegant English country inn, we felt at home. The innkeepers were welcoming and warm. Our room was spectacular- working fire place and a view out in to the snow covered meadow and mountains beyond. The home is filled with beautiful antiques, yet is thoughtfully appointed with all modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious- we began with granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, and juice and then enjoyed delectable apple french toast. After a long day of skiing, we returned to a roaring fire place in the living room where we sat and chatted with fellow guests. We only wished we could have stayed longer! We will definitely return to this special gem and recommend it wholeheartedly to others.

Romantic Delightful Devonfield

We spent a memorable 3 nights at Devonfield feeling pampered and special by the new innkeepers, Ronnie and Bruce. The facility was flawless and immaculate while the personnel were friendly, accommodating and professional. The weekend was a sheer delight from the plentiful and delicious breakfasts to the beautiful rooms with gorgeous views and cozy, warm fireplaces. The area has lots to offer as well, from the Rockwell Museaum to antique shopping and a variety of dining choices. We can not wait to book our next visit and spend time during the fall and winter seasons in the Berkshires at Devonfield's. Thank you Ronnie and Bruce- you made our trip a true delight !!

SOO many special touches Posted by Orlee from Rochester We stayed here for two nights. It was our wedding anniversary and the owners left a single red rose and small bottle of champagne with glasses and a card. What a lovely touch and completely surprising. The bedding is devine. Chocolates each evening in the room, cookies and a pantry available, bottled water. They have thought of many special touches.
